Spring is in the Air

Allergy season is upon us... as the wind blows I hear sneezing, sniffling and coughing coming from my house. Soon I will see the red eyes and the hear the gravelly voice telling me "I can't breath"... So, what are good "weeds" to use for allergies? Here's 2 I like to recommend.

Well, the number 1 weed is Stinging Nettle. The active ingredient, scopoletin, is a natural antihistamine, nettle extract helps prevent hay fever symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion and itchy, watery eyes. You can ingest it in a Tincture, or Capsules. You can take two 300-milligram (mg) capsules, 3-4 times daily for relief.

The number 2 weed is Butterbur. This herb is from the daisy family, butterbur (Petasites hybridus) is one of the most time-tested European allergy remedies. It’s been used since the 17th century to stop coughs and treat upper-respiratory symptoms. Butterbur has proved as effective as antihistamines in relieving allergies, but without the drowsiness of over the counter drugs. Again this can be taken in a Tincture or one 50 mg- 75 mg capsule, normally taken twice daily.

Now if your not into taking weeds to help reduce allergies simply keep an eye on the Pollen count and try to stay indoors. Also keep your windows closed, and limit the amount of time the door gets opened.

I know, it's definitely not what you want to hear but if you don't try to manage your exposure, you'll be sneezing up a storm and be miserable.

On the other hand i can help somewhat with a Tea and a Tincture that may make you feel a it better. But hang in there Fall is coming and relief with it...

Until next time, have a great day and go check out the weeks near you!!
